Facilities Director

General Function:

Under the direction of the CEO, the Facilities Director has primary responsibility for all YMCA properties including the Downtown YMCA, East Branch YMCA, Child Development Center and rental houses. This person will supervise and work directly with individual Maintenance Technicians, Custodial and Custodial Staff to see that all facilities, vehicles and program sites are maintained in a safe, clean and functional manner that best represents the YMCA.   

Know How:

The candidate for this position must:

  • The Facilities Director must have a general understanding of the YMCA philosophy, governing structure, and relationship to the community.
  • The Facilities Director must be able to demonstrate a proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical skills and have the knowledge to insure that the facilities are at all times safe and clean and in keeping with all required safety and health regulations.
  • The Facilities Director should have the capability of maintaining boilers, pool filter systems, heat/AC systems associated with the YMCA’s facilities.
  • The Facilities Director must possess the administrative skills necessary to train, supervise and evaluate staff, understand and function within a developed budget, communicate effectively with the public, and work with teams of both staff and volunteers.
  • Have the capability of understanding and overseeing maintenance contracts

Birthday Party Host

Location: Findlay Downtown YMCA / Position Title:  Birthday Party Host / Hours: Up to 15-20 hours a week

The Findlay Family YMCA is seeking a Birthday Party Host to provide instruction and supervision of birthday party guests, including children and adults.  Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.  Represent the YMCA and self in a professional manner of safety and fun. Child Development Center School Aged Coordinator

The School Aged Child Care Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the school age child care department and will plan, lead, and evaluate group experiences. Required: Minimum age of 21; Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience working in a professional child care or school aged program; Education in child development, child guidance, human relations, or recreational programs and/or equivalent experience; Excellent skills in planning activities for various ages, staff supervision and development, communication, organization, and human relations; ^Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications within 30 days of hire date.

Child Development Center Lead Teachers

The YMCA Child Development Center is currently seeking qualified Lead Teachers for a Toddler Room and a Preschool Room.  Classroom experience necessary, prefer teachers with AA or BA in Early Childhood Development. This is a full time, year round position.  Only serious applicants please.

Yard Work/Light Custodial

Looking for an individual to do light yard work (weeding, mulch clean up, etc.) and indoor light custodial work. 20 hours/week; Monday-Friday 10 am-2 pm. Minimum Wage with YMCA membership.

Active Older Adult Instructor (Enhance®Fitness)

Part-Time position available. Be part of a team consistent with the mission of the YMCA, an Enhanced®Fitness Instructor will provide quality member services through leadership in exercise instruction for older adults in a group setting. Instructor is responsible for the preparation, planning, and delivery of the Y-USA Enhance®Fitness group exercise program for those suffering from pain, limited mobility, and stiffness due to a Chronic Disease.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Experience providing group exercise classes to older adults.
  2. Build and maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
  3. Provide appropriate instruction on proper form and exercise techniques according to the Y-USA Enhance Fitness Curriculum.
  4. Teach Enhance®Fitness program from a plan consistent with established format.
  5. Encourage Enhance®Fitness participants to meet their own determined wellness goals through regular contact, and relationship development.
  6. Begin and end classes on time.
  7. Maintain certifications as required by the position.

Requirements:

  1. Current group exercise instructor certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization is preferred or must be obtained within one month after hire.
  2. Employee will be required to obtain an Enhance®Fitness Instructor Certification, this will be provided through the YMCA.
  3. Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
  4. Must be 18 years of age
  5. Must enjoy working with people and have good human relation skills

Child Care Assistant Teachers

We are looking for group leaders for our before and after school program.  Morning and/or afternoon hours available.  Experience working with school age children preferred.  Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. 

 The YMCA Child Development Center is looking for experienced assistant teachers to work in our infant, toddler and preschool classroom.  Morning and Afternoon shifts available.  Looking for applicants that are committed to the growth and nurturing of children.  Experience and education in ECE preferred.   Must be at least 18 years of age.

Dance Instructor

Provides direct supervision and instruction to a group of children. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in the dance program as part of the overall program experience.Knowledge of ballet and tap needed. Experience with funky jazz, modern, contemporary and hip hop a plus. 3-5 hours per week during the weekday mornings. Teaching experience preferred. Click here for job description.

Yoga Instructor

The Findlay YMCA is looking for a part-time yoga instructor to join our caring team. Responsible for leading safe, effective yoga classes. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt classes to meet the members’ needs. Must have ability to cue, coach, and help others. Availability to sub in addition to regular classes. Current Yoga certification required. CPR/AED certifications required or must obtain within 2months of hire.
